Art Classes: 1o weeks: 3 hrs: Block 6: Spring light? The weather changed in May with the icy storms which withered everything green to frazzled brown. So our outdoor activities were mostly curtailed to the barn. However, we started with Daffodils, Camelias, Beautiful Blossom and Spring Green mixing before the weather changed. Looking at shadows, at light and capturing the essence rather than the actual, allowing expressive mark making, looser marks and leaning to the abstract. Because we were working big, A1, the homeworks were small pencil studies, on black paper, trying to push more positive mark making and colour mixing. As you’ll see, they proved outstanding results! And inspired me to put on an exhibition of a 2 year review of their work. Hesitant adults had lost their fears and were truly letting go and having fun!
…just too difficult to choose a selection from this incredibly inspiring block..from over 850 documented photographs…where the home-works were simply staggering! It’s all about looking…well done team!
