Beginners Art 6: Looking at Spring Light

Art Classes: 1o weeks: x3 hrs. Block 6: Spring light. The weather changed in May with the icy storms which withered everything green to frazzled brown. So our outdoor activities were mostly curtailed inside the barn. However, we started with Daffodils, Camelias, Beautiful Blossom and Spring Green mixing before the weather changed. Looking at shadows, light and capturing the essence rather than the actual, allowing expressive mark making, looser marks, leaning to the abstract. Because we were working big, A1, the homeworks were small pencil studies, on black paper, trying to push more positive mark making and colour mixing. They created outstanding results which inspired me to put on an exhibition of a 2 year review of their work. Hesitant adults had lost their fears and were truly letting go and having fun!
